Over the hump...

This week that started so horribly is finally almost over. I am hoping it ends on a happy note.

I am feeling slightly better. I went to the doctor yesterday and got some rx for meds, including another inhaler that has some refills on it. I think this all started with my allergies... aggravated into bronchitis. Tho my doctor said it was bronchial asthma. So whatever. BUT... the GOOD NEWS I got this week is now I have officially lost 30 lbs! YAY! *happy dance* I have lots more to go but this is a great start. My clothes are not fitting me anymore and that is a good problem to have, I guess, but I cannot afford to go out and buy myself a new wardrobe. Although it is something I will have to do this weekend... new pants for sure.

So I finished Sandra Brown, Fat Tuesday, and it was pretty good. Some parts were adrenaline pumping and some parts I kinda skimmed. But all in all, I still love to read a good Sandra Brown book. She is good at the twists and turns and she never seems to leave anything unexplained. Everything in the story has a purpose and justice is served once again. Her characters are not always perfect. They are complex and sometimes warped. A good read.

Now I am starting to read some old Nora Roberts, Stars, which has two of her older stories in it. Part of the Stars of Mithra series I think. Anyway, I am just in the third chapter so far and already she has my attention. That's Nora Roberts for ya.

This weekend I am planning on going to the Crawfish festival in Old Town Spring. (The blogger dictionary did not recognize the word "Crawfish". Isn't that funny?) I hope it turns out to be a fun time. I think I deserve a fun time... dammit. Friday I plan on getting a manicure and pedicure after work. My own birthday present. That is, if I feel better and stop coughing up a lung every two seconds.

Christopher, my almost 10 year old, has been going to Nicholas' friend's church on Wednesdays. Nick goes with him to help out the leaders who run the children's bible study which is great. Anyway, Chris got an study guide/activity book today that he already started. He is taking a great interest in learning bible verses. I am glad. I am so proud of my boys. :)

Ashley, my oldest stepdaughter, is all bummed and being a teenager with the drama about prom and how her beau in Indiana may not come for prom. Something about his mom charging him rent or something. She wants him to stay a long time (so he can go to prom and to her graduation) and she has to realize that he may not have the money to stay that long. And if he can come at least to one of the events and maybe just a weekend, that would be good too. I mean it is better than NOTHING right? Well, not to her but she is a teenager and cannot see the forest for the trees.

Ok that is all for now. Off to bed. :)
