It's been too long...

I have been bad lately and not posting much. I get that way sometimes. I have been a reading fool, as usual. I have read so many books that I cannot even talk about it really. I have continued reading the Dark-Hunter series (Thanks MK). What a great series. I am now on Devil May Cry. WOW... some eye-opening revelations in this one. YAY!

Plus it is really nice to have someone to talk to that likes the same books you do. Among other things. :)

Isa. Poor baby Isa. She is now one-eyed. She turned out to be blind in the eye that got infected. Vet thinks maybe she got it scratched during the attack. We took her to the vet yesterday and they removed her eye and she got fixed. So she is just a little stitch monster. But soon all of her hair will grow back and she will just wink all the time. She is already back to normal and her wounds are healing so fast. It is amazing and I just love her all the more.

I am excited about seeing Flogging Molly on the 11th. YAY... I love Irish music but this band mixes that with some rock-n-roll. So Brian and I are listening to them right now. Last night we listened to some old Bob shows that MK gave me. They were kickin!

Ok back to reading! :D

More Bob!!!

Last night, we saw Bob at Cypress Saloon with MK, Claire, Rachel and Fred.

It was another good show. A little more intimate than Warehouse Live. I cannot believe we saw him twice in exactly a week. BUT HEY ITS BOB!

Funny thing happened... I was attempting to take camera phone pics of Bob and Gang since we were so close... and Bob wouldn't stop moving around... and so I moved over to the guitarist Jeff Plankenhorn (aka Plank) and he totally poses for me with a huge grin.... and then the picture turned out like crap. See below.

O well.

Another good night. After the show, of course, Brian goes to talk to one of the bandmembers, Plank. (see above) He talked to him forever. He remembered him from last week... which is like cool but then again it was only a week ago.

Isa

She is feeling better and looking better. She is acting more like herself but her eye is infected. We are going to take her to the vet. We keep cleaning it with warm water and cloth. :(

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day ...

I had a great V-day. Brian gave me a square-cut solitaire diamond ring. What a surprise! It made me cry and then he cried... lol I never got an engagement ring b/c we couldn't afford it and it just wasn't important... at least as important as our wedding and getting married and all that. lol He also got me an oval pendant necklace with diamonds. I wear it all the time even if its not like appropriate to wear such a necklace. I just don't care.

That night we met up with MK and Claire at Warehouse Live and saw our fave musicion, Bob Schneider. It was a great show tho one of the opening bands gave us a great laugh. :D

Brian got a little drunk and my feet were killing me by the end of the night (standing from 8PM-2AM is not good on the tootsies).

All in all a great day... :D

What a crappy day.... Y~A~W~N

So last night, we had a hard time with Isa. She was hurting and she would not eat or drink anything. I did not have a dropper to feed her water that way so I had to use my fingers and it was not fun. She would not take her medicine and took forever for us to get her to take it. After that it was like 4am and I was exhausted but decided to stay up. Next thing I know it is 930 and the phone was ringing. Work wondering if I was ok and where was I. Grrreat...

Not a great start to the day. But I am here and working... taking a break after I choked to death. I haven't ready anything since the first of the week... after Isa got hurt she has been my focus when I am home. This morning she started to show some improvement and actually went to the bathroom for the first time since Monday. She even drank some water and took her meds (wrapped in cheese) like a good girl. She was walking around some but her back legs gave out on her a few times.

Heartbreaking to watch her but I know she is going to get better. She even licked her wound this morning which I take as a good sign no matter how gross it is to me.

I plan on working late today to make up for my morning oversleep.

SOOO tired tho...

I got my SIGG bottle today. I was walking out of the house when the UPS truck was leaving my driveway and sure enough... SIGG had arrived... I thought I was getting a green one but it looks more blue to me. It is very pretty... So far it's ok. I don't know about it being the most awesome thing ever like Laura says but I like it. It serves a purpose and I can feel good about doing one less thing to hurt the environment.

Here is a pic:

I don't really have a funny for today... so to celebrate the fact that I will be seeing Bob Schneider tomorrow night for V-day.... I have attached a fun video of him peforming... Keep that Stiffy Rollin' HE HE HE

My baby is hurt...

:(
Well, my chihuahua, Isa, deaf... sweet baby dog... got out of the house today. She managed to get thru the broken window that the stupid ass dog that broke it to get Coco impregnated. It was supposed to be blocked with a large piece of plywood. She got thru it. That is the only thing I can think of as to how she got out. Ashley was home sick and apparently didn't notice she was missing. The boys thought she was in Ashley's room laying with her. Brian and I got home to find her nowhere to be found in the house. We started a search outside. She is deaf so I was fearing the worst. We went to our next door neighbor and he told us that a girl was going house to house trying to find out if anyone lost a chihuahua. We were told by the neighbor that she told him that Isa was hurt and they took her to the vet. So we got into the car and went door to door. Luckily, the first house we went to, a neighbor that has lots of pugs, had her. They are the ones that found her and took her to the vet. She was attacked by a dog. I am so thankful she is alive. Of course, right now I cannot stop crying. Pictures are below so you are officially warned. I am so upset at my husband for not securing that window. Right now she is super drugged out. We have to clean it twice a day and I know poor Brian is going to have to do it cause I couldn't bear it. :(

She will be two in July, so she is my sweet little baby. :(

OK here are the pics:

Got a case of the Mondays?

Me too... and my coffee mug says so.

Never did get our bedroom rearranged though I imagine my husband will want to do it this week sometime. I just want a floor to cover my house and some new cabinets in the kitchen and oh yea a new couch. I am sick of the icky concrete floor.

I am now reading a Jennifer Weiner book, Goodnight Nobody. She makes me laugh. She is a great writer and one of her books was made into a movie with Toni Collette, Cameron Diaz and Shirley MacClaine, In Her Shoes. LOVE that story. Check it out. I love how real her characters are... with sarcasm, real heart... you can totally relate to them on a personal level. If you haven't read anything of hers, I highly recommend her.

Back to work... here is a clip for your monday enjoyment from Office Space... (I LOVE THAT MOVIE!):

Weekends should be relaxing... right?

Another weekend of doing pretty much nothing at all. Friday night, Brian took me out to dinner. We went to the Blue Iguana and it was so yummy. We had fun watching the waiters rushing by because they were SUPER packed. They were like Speedy Gonzalez. ZOOOM ... there goes one.... ZOOOM one with a tray... ZOOOOM one with drinks... he he he

Afterwards, Brian found his car STUCK IN THE MUD! HAHAHA We met there after work and it was so packed, he parked in this grassy area behind the restaurant. Well, his car sunk into the mud and he was trapped. He called our roadside assistance and they said it would take up to 2 hours to get someone out to him. So I went home and called Chumleys. The towing company that is actually right around the corner of the restaurant. It was hilarious to me. It took the guy one minute to get to Brian from when I called. Brian said the guy asked him when he got our of the truck, "You been offroading?" LOL In a Kia Spectre? HAHAH Too funny. That was the highlight of our weekend I think.

Which is pretty sad, I guess.

I have not read that many books this weekend. It has been kinda boring. We are about to rearrange our bedroom furniture. FUN! YAWN....

Here are a couple funnies:

Super Tuesday?

Ok so my husband forced me to watch Headline News last night. Glenn Beck is his fave... I do like Glenn Beck cause he makes me laugh. Other than that, I despise politics. We were watching the Super Tuesday results.

I do not have a CLUE who my candidate is. I am an independent... leaning more on the conservative side... with a liberal flair. HAHA That being said, I am tempted to write in my candidate than actually vote for the current choices. I keep thinking about the book series, Left Behind, and I swear one of them is the antichrist. I just am not fond of ANY of them. Not one. Some have some admirable qualities or maybe they have the same viewpoint I do on ONE issue... but all in all... they suck. I added a poll to my blog so you all can share with me your candidates... granted most of them won't be in the final running but it is always interesting to see who people go for.

To say that Obama and Clinton are neck and neck is an understatement. Watching the polls come in, they pretty much got nearly 50/50 in most of the states. The republican side is just boooring... Did you hear about the whole McCain/Huckabee thing in West Virginia (I think)? Stupid. I hate politics.

I can say one thing I DO NOT WANT A CLINTON in the White House... HELL NO... I don't care if she IS a woman... I just don't like her.

For those of you in Texas... It is time to vote in a new license plate. Have you done it yet? I did... You can do it here.

My brother recently brought to my attention this video series... about Photoshop. It is called You Suck at Photoshop. It is a comedy series but you actually learn how to do some neat tricks in Photoshop while watching this poor man's heart break. Confused? Just watch the first episode. (There are five total now) Funny stuff:

What if you just found out you had one month to live?

How would you live it? What would you do?

Our pastor and his wife wrote a book called One Month to Live: 30 Days to a No Regrets Life. They are challenging all of us in our church to think about this very question and to basically live 30 days as if it were our last. What is most important to you? It makes you think... would you care about the small stuff anymore? Would you try to be with your family more? Try to fix a broken relationship? Take a trip to a place you always wanted to go? Would money be such a stresful thing anymore? Would it make it moreso?

My husband and I are going to start on the challenge this weekend. I wonder what will happen? Will we both be totally different people by the end of the 30 days or will nothing change? I want to be serious about this. If you are interested in this, click here for more information about this challenge.

Monday... again...

Ok so it is Monday again. I have so much still to do at work.I have to finish one project that I should have had done on Friday. EEK! I hate not making a deadline and I rarely rarely RARELY ever do it. UGH So I am working my tail off today to get caught up. YAY!

So I finished all of the Full series by Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes. I have to say that I really enjoyed this series. I am not sure if they are making more to it... I mean it did leave off that maybe they will continue... but who knows.

So now I am back to the books that I have on my shelf left to read. I do want to get the rest of Sherrilyn Kenyon and Kresley Cole. I also want to get some J. R. Ward. But B&N does not seem to keep these in stock. I hate ordering online sometimes because I am impatient and want to get started on them NOW... but I guess I will just have to wait and read what I have for now. (Some of which is listed on the side panel)

Lots of talk about the super bowl today and most are in agreement that it was a very cool game.... better than the commercials. Though I have to say some of them made me LOL (for real).

One of which was the Pepsi Max one. Everyone was falling asleep (like me sometimes) and then they drank Pepsi Max and they all started bobbing their heads like Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell in A Night at the Roxbury . And then at the end of the commercial, Chris Kattan comes storming through some folks doing the head bob and he yells STOP IT! HAHA That made me laugh cause NO ONE that knows this movie/SNL skit can NOT bob their head when they hear that song!

There was one other that I laughed at ... the guy that was like blowing the candles on fire... all impressive and stuff and then he sneezes or something and he burns everything down. LOL Predictable but made me laugh regardless.

I know they promoted that all the super bowl ads would be on myspace.com/superbowlads so I have to check out what I may have missed... see if I find any others I liked. :D The game was definitely better than the commercials this year though.

Back to work.. yay... :P Brent stop procrastinating!!! he he he

GIANTS WIN !!!!! YEAAAAAAA BABY!!!!!

That was ONE HELL OF A FOOTBALL GAME!!!!!!

17-14 What a game... wow....

I knew Tom Brady had to go down when he didn't shake Eli Manning's hand... That just sealed what I think of Brady. Grade A Jerk!

Game winning touchdown, former steeler... Plaxico Burress.. it could not have ended any better for me... :D Then they held Brady off at every turn... hahahaha I LOVE IT... He got sacked like 100 times.... that was awesome.

WOW what a game!! I am so elated!!! WTG GIANTS!!!

GO GIANTS!!!

Today is the Super Bowl and our household is set. We have wings, veggies, little smokies, and more crap than we are going to probably eat. Our family loves football and regardless of whether the Steelers actually make it to the big bowl or not, we always watch the Super Bowl. This year we are cheering for the Giants of course! I am a big fan of the Mannings and of course former Steeler Plaxico Burress also plays for the Giants now. I know it will be a tough game for them to win, cause the Pats are a good football team, even if scuzz of humanity Tom Brady, plays for them. What kind of name is Bilicheck anyway? That jackass needs to learn some manners. I seriously am hoping the Giants kick Pat bootie!

In other news, I think my son got me sick. I woke Saturday morning to a swollen epiglottis. It was hard to swallow. I took an allergy pill and it gradually went down. I had a hair appt. yesterday... My hair looks FABULOUS btw. I finally made it to see Rossanne, recommended by Laura and Susan at work. She did a great job. She straightened it too with the CHI since I asked her about it and now I am buying one from her. (hee hee) After that I went home and passed out. Slept off and on all night long. I feel better today thank goodness. The last thing I need is to be sick!

I am reading the Full series by Janet Evanovich and I loved the first book, Full House. I read the second, Full Tilt, and loved it. I am on the third book, Full Speed, and it is going slower probably because I am not feeling 100% this weekend.

I need to take some pics of the puppies today so I can find them a home. Brian and the boys are moving them to the pen out back as I write this. They have been driving us nuts with their whining. They are 4 weeks now and so two more weeks and they can find their new homes.... I hope it is easier this time to find them homes than last time. By putting them in the pen out back, it will be easier on my house too!

Well, back to preparing for the super bowl.... GO GIANTS!!!!

GILLMAN HONDA SUCKS!

Last night, we did not get that car I spoke of yesterday because the dude sold it out from under us. We were approved and everything and just needed to come in and sign the paperwork and drive off with it... but he sold it because we could not come in the day before or something lame.

HOWEVER -- My sweet husband Brian wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so we went by there last night. We had an appt with the guy at 5:30PM. We waited for 45 minutes before we found out the guy had LEFT EARLY! He did not even call Brian to let him know!

So a newbie salesguy that speaks minimal english helps us. He brings us a 2006 Toyota Corolla with 20K miles on it. Now tell me how this is the same price as the one we originally were looking at (02 Toyota Corolla with 50K miles)?!? We questioned newbie salesguy and he went to get the finance guy who told him to bring us this car (He knew how much we wanted to spend and what we were approved for)... and we waited... and waited... and waited... So during all this time, we call our normal dealer guy, Jimmy Nguyen (pronounced WEE) at Fred Haas Toyota World. We wasted almost 2 hours waiting on the jerks at GILLMAN HONDA (WEST BELT & 59 SOUTH btw - DONT GO THERE!) and we saw ONE vehicle for two seconds (not even a test drive and the car was not even cleaned yet... still had former owners crap inside it) and got NO ASSISTANCE from anyone! FOR SHAME GILLMAN HONDA --- You will be getting a letter of EXTREME DISPLEASURE about the way you handle your customers... ANYWAY....

We leave without another word to the GILLMAN HONDA ASSHOLES and head to our good buddy Jimmy. We have purchased three THREE 3 cars from him... this will be our 4th. He brings us a gorgeous and loaded 2003 Toyota Corolla with 50K miles. We test drive it... we LOVE IT... It is in our price range... but by this time it is late so we are continuing the paperwork stuff today and should be (God-willing) driving home with it tonight. :D YAY!
